Editing the video
We started to edit the music video today and uploaded the clips like shown in the corner to final cut pro. Once done this we used our story board put the clips together so we knew which clips went where. In addition , we used the cut tool to make the video fast pace as it goes with the story line and music. Finally we made the music video black and white by adding the effect in and playing around with the contrast and brightness as that is theme throughout.

Front Cover Design - Attempt 2
Front Cover Improvements:
The front cover layout is a design i was inspired by from the Kooks album shown to the right.
With our band genre, I want to be unique and be different as that is something that i believe our genre have to do. Instead of using 1 image , i wanted to use multiple images. We took the photos up london , and i used them all for my Digi Pack front cover. The images give a insight into the band lifestyle , as the images show a day out in their home town london , and show where the band is from/based. In addition , i added 4 close ups of the band members to give a indication of the band members as you buy the Digi Pack.
I used Photoshop to edit this photos and create the layout. For the layout , I got this transformation lines as shown on the right , to ensure that the positioning of the images are straight and equal. From my first draft , the images were not lined up and rushed. But now you can notice the difference and makes the front cover look more professional and sharp. The main colouring theme of my Digi Pack is black and white , so i added that effect tool onto all the images which i will do a separate post to show the progress of how i edited the front cover images , and how they looked before and after. In addition , i played around with the contrast and brightness to bring out the images more and make them stand out , so the images are more noticeable and clear.
Overall , I am pleased with my front cover so far , and i will get feedback shortly from my audience to see what they think if i can make any changes. I need to play around with the font i believe as it could be more inline with each other as i think the fonts are slightly different sizes.
What could be improved?
I need to create a sticker to show the bonus features of this Digi Cover , such as the bonus DVD.

Back Cover Design 2nd
This is my new and improved track listing panel. From the feedback of my first Digi Pack pitch , I was struggling to think of a idea for my track listing. In my first Digi Pack , I choose just a simple lined paper track listing. I knew in myself that that idea is boring and not creative and i knew that it wasn't going to be my final design. I just made it quickly to present a finished first draft. And as shown above , this is my first real idea for my track listing.
I used a image of the band from the photo shoot up in London. The image was a natural photo of the band walking down the Thames going across a side bride. However , the photographer didn't focus the camera , so the image is out of focus. Therefore , I edited the photo on Photoshop to see if i can produce a good image still even with it being out of focus through playing with the effects. I used the black and white effect and brightness/contrast effect in Photoshop to edit this photo.
I used the black and white effect due to the colour theme of my Digi Pack through out is black and white themed. So i stuck to using that idea as it works well through out , as it suits the image of the band as they wear dull similar colours too. In addition , I used the brightness and contrast tool to make the images more clearer and stand out for the audience to see and make it clear that the 4 boys are the band members , as the image still looked un clear due to the image not being in focus.
The image still as a blurred effect to it , but i feel like that gives of a unique effect , and suits the band image and genre , as they don't rely on the image of the band , they rely on the music they produce. And with the band members walking away and you can only see the backs of the band , this is to suggest the idea , that this digi pack / new band is going places and they are going to achieve their goals they have set.
The placement of the track listing songs was something I found difficult. Down the side , it didn't give off the right effect and covered up the image of the band so it took away the whole meaning of the image as you couldn't see it due to the text going over the image, but also that placement of the text was a common idea that artist do , and i wanted to keep being unique. So then I decided to place the text at the top of the page , this still makes the image stand out and still read the track listing for the audience,
To make it look professional , I applied our record label logo which is 'Domino' as they produced this Digi Pack. In addition , I applied a bar code as well as the domino text as the bottom of the album cover about the address of the domino headquarters.
First Digi Pack
This is my First design of my Digi Pack , which i presented to my class in my pitch. I have only designed 3 panels which i would like to keep which are.
- The Front Cover ( bottom right)
- CD panels ( Middle bottom & top )
The other panels ( top left , bottom left and top right ) are panels which i have not yet created and thought about.
The Front Cover:
The Front cover is a design which i got the idea from The Kooks album. I wanted to be unique and different by not doing the usual 1 image front cover design. Therefore , i used to idea by having multiple images across my album cover. I used the photo shoot of the london photo , to show a day out with the band. With Rogues Gallery being a new band , i felt photos of the band need to be used to ensure the audience know who the band are and what they look like , and can tell the type of music genre through the image of the band members such as clothing , looks ect. In addition , i wanted the images and theme of my Digi Pack , to be black and white , as i feel that black and white gives of a dark effect , and the tone and feel the effect gives off suits the genre type of the band. In addition , other similar bands use this effect of their art work such as arctic monkeys and the kooks. They don't seem to use colour.
CD Panel: ( Top CD)
This CD panel is for the Bonus CD where it contains :
- interviews
- behind the scenes with the band
- live performances
- Producing Music
- Life of the band
- Thank you message at the end
I chose the image of the band in the studio recording / producing music as this links in with the content that is in the DVD as this image is a behind the scenes of the band.
CD panel ( bottom )
This is to hold the actual CD . The CD has a image of the band so when you pull out the CD there will be just a wall and scattered along the wall will be beer cans ect. I thought his idea is unique and fun idea for the fans.
The Other Panels:
Top Right: This panel will be a image of a living room wooden table , an old looking table as that suits in with the image of the band. On the table will be fags , beers , rolls up , tobacco , note pad ect as they show the lifestyle of the band as a unique photo. I feel like this type of band , wouldn't have too many photos through out their panels , so i wanted to use a photo which doesn't involve the band members.
Track Listing: This idea is not going to be my idea , i just made this quickly to present to the class a near finished piece. I am going to look at some of my photos i have so far of the band and see what i can use for my track listing.
Bottom Right : Un decided.
Animatic Music
This is the animatic video that we created with the images of our storyboards. We used Final Cut Pro to create this , and this was created so we can actually see the storyboards put together with the music to get a rough idea of what the music video is going to look like. So far , we feel like after watching this , we are heading in the right direction , but perhaps it is a bit to repetitive so we could think of some new ideas to ensure the audience doesn't feel like it is just repeating itself and is boring. We presented this to our class so the feedback sheets will be uploaded shortly.
Feedback Sheets Digi Pack

These are my feedback sheets for my digi pack first draft. As you can see i have got positive feedback for my digi pack and everyone likes the way i am heading. Unfortunately i need to give a first completed draft in , but i got great positive feedback on my front cover in which i have been working hard on . This idea has been something i want to do and something i wanted to express to my class and hear their opinion and they agreed that it is a great idea that i am going to be unique , something in which i really trying to achieve.
Digi Pak Pitch
This is my pitch for my digi pack. I presented this for my class to get feedback upon on my current process.
Studio Set 2 Photos
These are photos of the band in the studio to help with our digi pack.
Other Bands Font

These are similar bands that we inspire to be like , and I studied into these logos to get a understanding of what band logos of our genre are like to help create a new logo.
Colour: The colour of the logos as you can see are plain and simple colours of black and white. The bands can be seen as quite dark and unique and therefore , it needs to have simple colours to link in with the type of music they are producing. Furthermore , the simple colours help with putting the logo on a Digi Pak / album ect as it can be played around with and make it easier to adapt to the tpye of digi pack you want.
Font: The font used are simple and plain.

feedback sheets

Overall i am pleased with the pitch in how well it went and the feedback we got. Everyone thinks we got potential and is working towards the right mindset. We wanted to ensure our idea was right so the feedback helped us out for future purposed when actually going into the production side.

Chosen Song
This is our chosen song for our music video. We chose the song Kasabian - Club Foot . The link is above so you can have a listen.
The reason we choose this song is because we done some audience research on my facebook page and i got feedback from the voting poll and comments on which song fits our music video idea. music video idea was posted in the description so people know the idea before they listen. Kasabian club foot was picked due to this song got the most votes but the song has a fast beat to it , so this creates excitement and a idea of a adrenaline which links in with the fight scenene and the training where a adrenaline rush can kick it due to the motivation of the trainer. In addition it has a dark airy feel to it which gives links in with the darkness of the video such as the fight scene at the end.

Photoshoot Costumes
This image is to indicate the costumes of the band and the image we are going for. The image of the band is a key aspect for my Digi Pack as we need to come across as a indie rock band. To achieve this goal , the costumes need to follow the codes and conventions of indie rock image and apply that to our own costumes. From the research , we need to wear skinny jeans with a rough look about our selves.
Indie rock stars dress unique with each having their individual type of style but all look similar together. We chose to go with simple colour , nothing to fancy or bright. Although Charlie has blue in his tshirt , in black and white it will come out fine as everything will obviously look black and white. Perhaps the only change i would make would be to change Charlie top to more of a plain and dull colour t shirt with no bright colours on as we dont want to give off the impression we area pop band. But this photo is to establish the look and image we have got going so far for our band. I will post this photo on my Facebook page to get feedback on weather we look like a indie rock band and if any changes could me made for our costumes.

Feedback sheets
These are the feedback sheets given to us after performing our pitch idea to our group. The results show , that 'Rogues Gallery' are working towards a perfect idea.
What Works Well?
- All three groups who analysed our idea and band image stated that our band image is the perfect style in what we are going for to match our genre of music. The background of the boys in how we first started and how we got recognised all works well.
- Furthermore , results show that the video idea / narrative of the music video works well with the song choice and that we have no problems with the idea we want to do.
- Another point that works well is the name , works well with the band image , background and lifestyle.
What could be improved?
- The band logo is a idea which could be improved as it looks to complicated , the comments we got back suggested that we thought too much into the logo when similar bands have a more simple design. It suggest that when the logo will go on the digi pack , it will be hard to fit it in the rest of the front cover as its a bit too much going on. Furthermore , the logo looks more gangster rap due to the design of the bars going across and the fists.
- In addition , the peers who we pitched too would like of seen a Godwin analysis of the band so that is something we need to produce.
- Locations of the music video is something the peers would like to see as we forgot to include that , so they had a clearer image of the music video , but the video idea itself got good feedback.
What doesn't work ?
- The feedback sheets state that nothing doesn't work , so that is a huge positive for the band that we are heading in the right direction.
What we need to do next?
From the feedback sheets , we have decided that we need to change our logo and make it more simple design just like the other bands we have been researching about.
In addition , with the music video idea feedback all positive we can now go ahead and storyboard the idea and do a presentation for Godwin analysis of the music video idea.

Photos of drink
Click on Photos of drink to see my photo montage of the images I took of the drink scattered around on the table side.
The Photos:
For the photos I played around with the focus so the background and some of the products was out of focus and some object are clear and catch the attention of the audience. I also played around with the positioning of the object so it looks like they are natural there and not set up.
In some of the photos i set alight the roll up so the smoke gave off a very cool effect to the image.
Props:
I got a old coffee table for the object to be placed onto. I needed a old looking table as it needs to fit in with that old vintage indie feel the band give off. A modern nice looking table wouldn't look right in my opinion so I got a second hand table and was perfect as it had natural wear and tare which added to the indie feel. Then I threw onto the table object that gave off the feel that the band members have been here or are there at this present time so it shows the lifestyle of the band. For this i used object such as lighters, roll ups and beers.
Overall I am happy with these photos as they came out perfect in what i was looking for. These photos establish the lifestyle of the band and is going to be used for my digi pack panel. All i need to do now is add the photos into Photoshop and play around with the effects of the images.
